The design firm has designed three vertical cylindrical storage tanks, each with a capacity of 3000 m3, to hold oils with similar properties (anthracene oil and phenol-based oils). The diameter of each tank is 17 m, and the shortest distance between the tank walls of any two tanks is 21 m. These three tanks form one group, with a fire dike surrounding them. Question: Is it necessary to design separate dikes between each pair of tanks, thereby creating three smaller fire dikes? May I ask which regulation of the petrochemical industry this is based on?
It should be divided into three small firebreaks, due to the different varieties.
One tank contains refined oil (which may be modified anthracene oil or modified washing oil), while the other two tanks hold crude oil. I’ve checked, and the crude oil falls under Category A B; the modified washing oil also belongs to Category A B, whereas the modified anthracene oil is classified as Category B B. Do you need to consider separate barriers for different types of chemicals? Should it still be classified according to fire hazard? If, in accordance with the requirement that Type A B and Type B A can be arranged in the same group, Type A B and Type B B must be arranged separately, then if the refined oil is modified anthracene oil, a partition wall needs to be added. I’m not sure if my analysis is correct
