The morning safety briefing is also a very important component of a company’s safety management. When utilized properly, it can make safety management much easier. The morning meeting is essentially a brief safety training session, of course, provided that the team leader talks about safety. During the morning meeting, the team leader should spend more time talking about safety, emphasizing the risks associated with the work tasks on a daily basis, as well as checking whether the safety measures put in place to address these risks are actually being implemented. At the morning meeting, it’s not only the individual who needs to speak; sometimes the manager also attends the team’s morning meeting. This allows them to understand the employees’ conditions as well as identify any issues that may exist within the team’s morning meetings. Moreover, it is also possible to interact with team members at appropriate times and engage in discussions, thereby creating a positive safety atmosphere for safety-related work. Most importantly, it is essential to play our role as leaders in guiding safety efforts, providing targeted guidance and support. Morning meetings can also make use of modern technological tools; companies that have the means can use projectors and large-screen TVs to show short safety videos, or share such content within the team’s communication groups. The goal is to ensure that employees are constantly exposed to messages related to safety. Through such gradual efforts, it is possible to enhance employees’ awareness and willingness to prioritize safety, encouraging them to think about what is important from a safety perspective and to take action where necessary. This helps to make them the core of safety risk management and accident prevention, ensuring that everyone adheres to the principle of preventing harm to oneself and others. The themes for Safety Month this year and last year both emphasized the importance of everyone being mindful of safety. Therefore, this theme should also be highlighted during the morning meetings, with each person taking turns to speak about the safety hazards in their work and explain how they address them. In this way, every employee in the team can become an active participant in safety efforts and take responsibility for risk management. Ensure that everyone can identify risks, and that everyone can implement control measures effectively. What our team leaders and corporate safety managers need to do is to unleash the inherent safety potential within employees. Only when everyone becomes a safety advocate can the overall safety level of the enterprise be improved.
