Is a floating valve tower suitable as a crude distillation tower?

Our factory is a company that produces alcohol from corn, and we use floating valve columns as the distillation towers; however, these columns tend to get clogged. Is it suitable to use floating valve columns as distillation towers?
Since it is prone to clogging, the float tower is not very suitable. You might consider solid valves; I’m not very familiar with them either – it’s just my opinion.
I have been involved in alcohol production, and today’s distillation columns are mostly floating valve columns; only older types of columns use bubble cap columns or SD-type trays. In my 20 years of experience in alcohol production, I have not encountered any cases of blockage in floating valve columns. The impurity removal of the main raw materials actually refers to things like rope ends and packaging threads. There are references to the phenomenon you mentioned in relevant books, but they are merely the opinions of experts from when float valve towers were first introduced.
It is recommended to use a packed tower for the distillation column
