I would like to ask fellow sailors: for a packing tower whose body is made of PP material, how should the thickness be determined? Could you provide the mechanical property parameters used for strength verification of PP material?
Basically, the towers that exist are made of metal materials, or they have a metal core with a non-metallic outer layer. I’ve never seen a tower whose main structure is made of PP plastic, which is a non-metallic material.
You can directly consult the manufacturer of the filler for this.

Towers with a metal lining over a non-metallic layer are generally used; the following standards can be referred to. If the tower isn’t very tall, there are many cases where PP or PVC is used for its construction; for example, in exhaust gas absorption towers, those over 10 meters high aren’t particularly thick either – the main reason is cost-effectiveness.
