When feeding a packed tower, after some time the packing inside the tower gets clogged; some solid residues from the reactor can also cause blockages in the packing. Do you have any good solutions? 1. The amount of waste liquid to be treated is large, 2. Continuous feeding is required, 3. A reboiler is currently being used
Pre-treat the feed by settling and filtering it
Is the poster using batch distillation or continuous distillation? Is the blockage caused by the material itself or by the operation? If possible, open the tower to locate the section where there is a blockage, and try replacing it with equivalent surface area dispersion ring packing or equivalent surface area packing with lower pressure drop
1. Controlling the bottom temperature of the tower can delay solid residue buildup in the tower and prevent excessive temperature increases. 2. Technical modification: an intermittent extraction pipeline is added at the bottom of the tower, controlled by self-regulating valves to regulate the temperature at the tower bottom
Replacing the packing below the feed inlet with anti-clogging tray plates will yield good results~
Set standard filters, and replace the packing below the feed inlet with anti-clogging tray plates. I’ve learned this from others; please point out any mistakes.
