The air-cooling tower has a diameter of 6.4 meters and a total weight of around 150 tons. Its elevation is 32 meters; a 650-ton crawler crane is used for the main lifting operations, while a 260-ton truck crane is used for assisting with the lifting process. The air separation plant mainly includes: three sets of 100,000-class (oxygen production) air separation units, a backup system (oxygen and nitrogen systems), and an air compression station. Shaanxi Huajian No. 2 Company is primarily responsible for the construction of the third air separation unit in this project. Currently, the main structural components of the cold storage unit have been arriving one after another, and the pre-installation phase for the cold storage unit has begun; the goal is to achieve completion by December 30, 2019. It is the largest coal chemical project in the world to date, with a planned total investment of 120 billion yuan. The first-phase project of the Shenhua Yulin Circular Economy Coal Comprehensive Utilization Project is a preliminary phase of this project (the CTC project). It also serves as a facility for producing methanol raw materials to support the already completed Shenhua Shaanxi Methanol Downstream Processing Project (SSMTO). The construction scope includes an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons of methanol along with 400,000 tons of ethylene glycol per year. The facility comprises various process units such as air separation, gasification, shift reaction, acidic gas removal, methanol synthesis, sulfur recovery, and ethylene glycol production, along with the associated utility systems and auxiliary facilities. Once completed, it will enable integrated production and management with the SSMTO project.
