The syngas at the outlet of the carbon scrubber contains water – what actions can be taken to resolve this issue? There are no major issues with water quality. The gasification system has been in operation for only a short time, so we should first rule out the possibility of blockages or overflow in the trays. As instructed by my supervisor, I reduced the liquid level in the carbon scrubbing tower and decreased the amount of condensate fed into it, but this did not solve the problem. In my opinion, it is not advisable to reduce the amount of condensate supplied to the tower, as this will cause more ash to enter the subsequent systems and lead to an increase in moisture content. I’m seeking advice from experts – is there any better solution?

Is there a roughly drawn flowchart by hand, regarding the issue of water in the syngas at the outlet?; This requires considering the outlet temperature and pressure of the gas ; For gas treatment, your facility likely uses a atmospheric pressure tower. It is recommended to install inclined tubes (tilted downward) at the inlet stage, connecting them to a buffer tank equipped with a water seal. The water in this tank is very dirty and should be discharged directly into the sewage tank; however, it can remove 90% of the ash. The remaining gas then enters the carbon scrubbing tower from the top. The water from this tower can be discharged into a clean water tank for reuse, and the volume of water required can be quite small. In this case, the water content and ash level in the outlet gas should be very low – specifically, the ash content is only 10% of the original level. Additionally, the processing capacity of the tower increases, which reduces the amount of water needed. This is just my personal opinion ; It is recommended to check the quality of the outlet water to see if it is turbid; if it is very turbid, it is likely that the amount of ash in the incoming water is too high ; Increasing the amount of water used for cleaning exceeds the tower’s processing capacity, resulting in poor quality ;
