When the feedstock becomes lighter, the bottom temperature of our distillation tower decreases, while the top temperature increases. But why does the acidic gas at the top of the reflux tank at the tower top decrease? As the raw material becomes heavier, the bottom temperature increases while the top temperature decreases; as a result, the amount of acidic water at the top of the reflux tank increases. I would like to ask the experts why the amount of acidic water increases when the composition becomes heavier and decreases when it becomes lighter. Thank you!
It’s a bit illogical! The temperature at the bottom of the tower has already decreased; can the temperature at the top of the tower still increase? If the feed temperature remains stable, where does the thermal energy at the top of the tower come from?
From the bottom of the tower. The heat amount remains the same; with a low bottom temperature, it’s certain that all the heat goes to the upper part
Has there been a change in the vapor stripping volume at the bottom of the tower? If it increases, the acidity of the water also increases. Also, monitor the changes in the moisture content of the feed.
The amount of acidic water should be independent of the severity
When the raw material is light, there are more light components, and thus more heat is carried upward. But is the change in the acidic water related to your other operations? It’s not quite clear
Is it because the top temperature is high, causing the temperatures of various components in the reflux stream to be high as well? As a result, some of the moisture escapes through the gas phase. Let’s check whether there has been any change in the total amount of acidic water at the upstream and downstream stations
