Do there any design specifications requiring a vertical section with a diameter at least 10 times that of the pipe in the bottom section of a distillation tower for self-ventilation?

For the pipeline at the bottom of a distillation tower, a vertical section with a diameter at least 10 times that of the pipeline is required for self-ventilation. What is the design approach behind this? Are there any design specifications?

I’ve never heard of such a requirement. However, there are types with thick pipes for self-ventilation; the exact amount of ventilation required depends on the medium being used
What is self-ventilation? How did it end up in the tower bottom? It’s purely in the liquid phase here!
This is the length by which the container’s nozzle extends outward; it’s probably not what the original poster was looking for. I’ve encountered the settings used by the original poster, but there are no standard requirements; it seems to be a height determined based on experience.
Increase the residence time of the liquid phase outlet, and return the gas phase back to the tower to avoid cavitation in the pumps.
