I would like to ask everyone: has any technical modification been carried out on the methanol-water separation tower? Our plant initially used a tray tower, but later it was modified to a floating valve tower. What are the advantages of this?
In my opinion, the different tray structures are not important; it is the separation efficiency and effectiveness that matter
It still depends on your separation efficiency; the water content at the top of the tower and the alcohol content at the bottom are important indicators. The form it takes doesn’t matter
My guess is that the original throughput was insufficient, so the tray was modified to improve efficiency
