By purity, you must be referring to the light-key components; the question is whether what you consider to be light-key components are indeed such in this mixture system. Solution: 1. Check the boiling point level ; 2. Check for the presence of azeotropes. 3. Is the thermodynamic method correct?
Thanks for the advice! I asked a colleague to do it, and he was able to detect the azeotropy of two substances while doing it, but my sample did not show any such phenomenon. He uses the database APV110, while I use APV86; could different databases cause this issue? Thank you!
The new version generally only updates the parameters of some new systems compared to the old version; if your mixed system is common, there should be no issue in finding the azeotrope. Possible reasons why an azeotrope cannot be detected: 1. The software itself is not installed properly; usually, after installing the software, the first basic step is to check known azeotropes in order to determine whether the software has been installed correctly ; 2. The software lacks the necessary interaction parameters, which makes it impossible to predict azeotropy ; 3. The selected property method cannot predict azeotropes, whereas other suitable methods may be able to do so. Wait.
