On April 10, the first section of the main torch tower for the Bohua project undertaken by China National Chemical Engineering Corporation was successfully lifted, marking the official start of the installation work for the main torch of this project and kicking off the phase of lifting large-scale components for the Bohua project in 2020. The main torch tower for the Bohua project consists of 3 separate torch systems. The cylinders and torch heads of the 3 torch systems are designed as self-dismantling elevated torches, arranged on a tower. The tower has a total height of 150 meters; it is the tallest structure in the Bohua project as well as across the entire Bohua plant. It represents one of the most challenging elements in terms of construction. The installation of this torch tower is divided into 6 sections. The first section of the tower is assembled directly on the foundation, while the remaining sections are pre-assembled on the ground before being lifted section by section using large cranes. The tower section lifted this time is the first section assembled on the ground; it weighs nearly 130 tons, is nearly 30 meters tall, and the installation height is nearly 40 meters. For this lifting operation, the main crane and the auxiliary crane are first used to turn and erect the tower that has been assembled on the ground ; After installing the temporary platform, use a crane for the actual lifting. Before lifting, the project team conducted a thorough inspection of all preparatory work and provided safety and technical instructions to the operators. As the first section of the torch tower was slowly lifted, it took 3 hours to complete the installation of this first section, marking the official start of the torch lifting process.
