If the power supply to the pump does not allow for interruptions, how should a solution be chosen? Is it possible to use a battery?
Generally, there is no power supply designed for just one pump. In chemical plants, power supply is usually provided through two circuits; if one circuit fails, the other circuit kicks in within about 2 seconds. EPS power supply is generally used to power devices such as the DCS and pneumatic valves, allowing for adjustments, but it isn’t sufficient to drive a pump
EPS can fully meet the requirements; if higher power is needed, considering adding an inverter is an option
Inverters cannot reduce power; they are used only for regulation purposes
By adding an inverter, it is possible to reduce the capacity of the EPS when selecting it~~ Otherwise, the starting current will be high, which requires a large capacity for the EPS as well, making it more expensive~~~
Considering the pump’s power level, it’s not very high. If there is only one pump, an EPS system can be used; however, when choosing an EPS system, it is necessary to consider whether it will be able to start the pump, and appropriate measures should be taken. It requires a dual-power supply due to its large size.
EPS should be able to meet your requirements. But you need to calculate the power of your pump and the duration for which it needs to run
For small water pumps, EPS power supply can be used; however, our factory has opted for fire pumps equipped with diesel engines, which can be started automatically via a controller
The solution that uses a battery should be the EPS one
Check what category of electricity user the power supply department has assigned to you; generally, users in category 2 or above require dual power supply
