Mitsuboshi gear pumps are used in various fields. What are their characteristics that enable them to function well in so many different environments? Besides some general precautions, are there any other things that need special attention regarding the Niigata gear pumps? Let’s talk about the features of the Niisshin Seiki gear pump and the installation considerations. Features of the Nippon Seiki gear pump: Ultra-high pressure, high efficiency: It utilizes a new pressure delivery method to generate ultra-high pressure with high efficiency. Ultra-quiet: Improves the working environment and thus addresses noise pollution. Long service life and easy maintenance: The use of a low-friction design along with durable gears extends the pump’s service life, while its simple structure makes maintenance easier. Superior inhalation function: Excellent inhalation performance, with an inhalation pressure that can reach -0.3 kgf/cm3. Water-soluble (W/G) hydraulic oil can be used. Precautions for installing the Niigata gear pump: Use hydraulic oil of the same quality as R&O’s wear-resistant ISO VG32~68 grade, and ensure that the operating viscosity is within the range of 20~150 mm/s. The hydraulic oil temperature range is 5~65°C. If the oil temperature at startup is below 5°C, heat the hydraulic oil or operate at low pressure to raise the oil temperature to 5°C. The ambient temperature should be between 0 and 60°C. The suction pressure is –0.03 to +0.03 MPa (–0.3 to +0.3 kgf/cm), and the inlet flow velocity is within 2 m/sec. Please avoid drive methods such as pulley drive or gear drive, which increase the lateral load on the pump shaft end, and install the pump shaft horizontally. For the oil suction filter, use one with a filtration density of around 100μm (150 mesh), while install a linear filter with 25μm density in the return path leading back to the fuel tank. Keep the contamination level of the hydraulic oil at or below NAS10. Be careful to prevent water or foreign substances from entering, as well as any discoloration of the oil. If bubbles get mixed in, the oil becomes cloudy and white; when the oil turns brown, it indicates that the oil has deteriorated. During the first start-up, repeatedly operate the motor (start/stop) to expel the air from inside the pump and the pipelines. For circuit designs with difficulty in exhaust during startup, an air check valve should be installed. Before operation, to fully lubricate the sliding surfaces of the pump, please fill it with oil. The shaft protrusion and the error of the motor shaft should be within 0.05 mm, and the mounting base connecting the motor must have sufficient strength. (The angle error should be within 1°)
