Dear sea friends: The image below shows a pump purchased by our company. On the nozzles of the inlet and outlet flanges of this pump, there are markings labeled TAP and HOLE. What is the difference between TAP and HOLE?

The TAP indicated on the nozzle surface of the pump’s inlet and outlet flanges may mean that the pump nozzle is a threaded fitting, while HOLE may indicate that the pump nozzle is a flanged opening that requires matching flanges, gaskets, and fasteners. The thread plug is connected directly via threads, without the need for gaskets, flanges, or fasteners.
