Why does excessive preheating cause the pump to become evacuated?

A small question: in a vacuum distillation unit, why does an excessive preheating temperature of the standby pump cause the operating pump to go into vacuum?
Is that true? Was it because the pump was running and causing evacuation, and that’s why this issue was identified? Logically, it shouldn’t be a problem
When preheating some large hot oil pumps, it is often impossible to fill the pump completely, as there is a large amount of gas (steam or vaporized light components) inside the pump. If the preheating valve is opened wide, this gas can easily enter the operating pump and cause vacuum formation
