Blockage in the secondary inlet pipeline of the Roots vacuum pump

Hello, experts. The secondary inlet pipeline of the Roots vacuum pump in our unit is constantly blocked by foreign objects, which causes damage to the pump’s current supply and its rotor. I would like to ask if you have any good solutions or improvement measures; how does your unit handle such issues? By the way, the issue is related to the material itself and cannot be resolved; we can only think of ways to deal with it on the part of the pump itself. Thank you so much!
Installing a filter or a relatively large buffer tank on the inlet pipe of the Roots vacuum pump – I’m not sure if that will be useful.
Install filters with an appropriate mesh size for the clogging medium
Two filters are installed on the inlet pipeline of the Roots vacuum pump, one as a backup. Differential pressure transmitters are placed at the inlet and outlet of the filters; a certain differential pressure value is set, and when this value is reached an alarm is triggered, prompting the use of the backup filter while the other filter is cleaned!
In the chemical industry, buffer tanks together with strainers are generally used; installing a filter as well will basically solve this problem
