We need to implement a flow control system, with a maximum flow rate of 200 cubic meters per hour. However, the diameter of the pipes in the current system is 100 mm. I would like to ask everyone: when selecting a pump, can we use a pump with an inlet diameter of 100 mm?

Check what type of medium it is; with flow rate and pipe diameter available, the flow velocity can be determined. Then just check the maximum flow rate for medium transport.
The medium is aviation fuel, with a conductivity value of around 100.

Based on the data you provided, the flow rate of the liquid inside the pipeline should be over 7 m/s, while the inlet flow rate for pumps is generally around 1–2 m/s. I haven’t worked with aviation fuel before, and no specific recommended flow rates could be found online; it’s best to consult your local experts. As for the pump model, for a 200 m3 pump, the inlet pipeline diameter is usually 125/150 mm, and it’s possible to use reducers, but the number of reduction stages should not exceed one, ideally not more than two. Check whether it’s possible to use a reducer at the pump inlet, but be mindful of the pressure drop. Be careful with aviation fuel gasification as too high a flow rate can also cause the pump to vibrate; it’s better to consult the manufacturer for specific advice

The pipe diameter is too small; such a flow rate is likely too low even for use at the outlet
