What are the specific material requirements for UL and FM certification of fire pumps? Is it true that during certification, the materials are specified clearly? If the materials used in the product are different from those used at the time of certification, does that still meet the certification requirements?
UL/FM is a certification from the United States; I haven’t found any information on it yet and am in the process of looking for it. I just completed a design a few days ago; it requires UL/FM certifications for the United States, with the material specifications specified according to national standards. National standards GB6245 and GB 50974 specify certain mandatory and recommended requirements regarding the materials used for fire pumps (for example, GB 50974 states that the pump casing should be made of ductile iron, while the impeller should be made of bronze or stainless steel)
