As shown in the diagram, the bottom of the motor base is empty. I recall that such bases used to require grouting, but this one hasn’t been grouted. Secondary grouting isn’t very useful, but it’s still best to carry it out.
The construction contractor carried out the work according to the drawings, and the owner did not request grouting. Then leave it empty.
The purpose of secondary grouting for the installed equipment is to secure the gaskets as well as the spaces between various groups of gaskets. This base and foundation are fitted with ultra-flat gaskets made of inclined and flat plates, secured with bolts, and joined by welds to prevent movement during grouting; thereafter, grouting material is poured in. It should be noted here that if ordinary concrete is used for pouring, vibration is required. But now, ready-made specialized \"grouting materials\" are widely used, allowing for direct casting. After 24 hours of curing, the strength is sufficient to proceed with further installation. Judging solely from the second picture, this poured grouting material does not seem to be a specialized product, nor does it appear to have been vibrated. It is recommended to use a chisel to tap on it and check if there are any pores inside, or if it is very brittle. If so, it should be redone from the start. For reference.
