Reversing results in almost no flow and can easily damage the impeller.
The key is to look at the direction of the impeller, as well as the direction of the impeller’s nut.
A check valve is installed at the outlet of the centrifugal pump to prevent the pump from reversing.
Before using the pump, check the rotation direction indicated on it; reversing it will damage the pump
In the production of sulfuric acid, generally, horizontal pumps rotate clockwise while vertical pumps rotate counterclockwise. What I would like to know is why, under normal operating conditions, the rotation directions of horizontal and vertical pumps are different – what is the theoretical basis for this? Thank you
