As the title suggests, the design institute recommended pure oil mist lubrication, while the client prefers oil ring lubrication. I would like to know: 1. What is oil ring lubrication? Only oil cups and oil bath lubrication are known. 2. What are the disadvantages of oil mist lubrication? It was previously believed that oil mist lubrication was a good option; what were the considerations behind switching to oil rings? Note: The pump outlet pressure for the gasoline hydrogenation feed pump is 3 MPa, and the temperature does not exceed 100 degrees Celsius
No oil slinger, pure oil mist tapered roller bearings – shaft bushings are not usable either
Thank you for the reply, but the temperature of this pump isn’t high. Don’t centrifugal pumps have rolling bearings without bushings? Is it due to cost considerations? Is the price difference between the two quite large?

In our factory, a small number of oil pumps are lubricated by pure oil mist, while the majority are lubricated by an oil bath. Oil bath lubrication is not suitable for bearing shells, nor for high-speed equipment; it is also not appropriate for some tapered roller bearings in heavy-duty equipment.
