This isn’t some major problem, right??? It’s simply the axial force resulting from the pressure difference between the suction area at the inlet of the impeller and the area on the north side of the impeller cover; that’s the main issue here. . . The solutions include enlarging the rotor journal, installing balance discs and thrust (pressure) bearings; in the case of multi-stage configurations, the direction of the incoming fluid can be changed..........................
