I recently purchased a batch of steel-lined PTFE pumps, and found that some of the bearing housings were lubricated with butter while others were lubricated with thin oil. I’m not quite sure why they aren’t all designed with thin oil lubrication What are the structural differences between these two lubrication methods? Starting from which specification model do perfluoropolymer pumps differentiate between these two lubrication methods? Please give me some advice, teacher
Depending on the manufacturer, check the bearing housing. Our bearing housings for certain Long pumps are different. Ours uses oil lubrication; there is an oil filling hole on the top of the bearing housing, and an oil level gauge is located on the right side of the pump end. This offers two advantages: 1. With the same bearing configuration, it can handle higher maximum rotational speeds and has better load-bearing capacity ; 2. In environments with severe acid mist, ball corrosion does not occur, as the oil film provides protection for the bearings. It’s not afraid of exposing its weaknesses either; it has one flaw: the bearings used for lubrication are equipped with two skeleton oil seals at the front and back, which can lead to oil leakage. Although the probability is low, it does happen from time to time. Personally, I feel that bearings with lubrication have a much longer lifespan than those without lubrication or those lubricated with grease.
We bought the X Dragon version; I don’t understand why it was designed with two different lubrication methods. Thanks for the advice
Initially, we used oil-lubricated bearings; as our products improved, all pumps with small diameters were upgraded to grease-lubricated bearings. Starting with the IHF125-100-200 model, oil lubrication was used. Grease-lubricated bearings are simple to operate and easy to maintain, but they are not used when the linear speed exceeds 3-4 M. Oil-lubricated bearings have good heat dissipation properties and a long service life, but the oil needs to be changed regularly
Some of your pumps do not require lubricating oil; only the bearings need butter, while others do require lubricating oil
I have another question regarding the axial force balance of your impellers. Are they back blades or balance holes, or both (on the same pump)?
Well, small-caliber ones aren’t needed; large-caliber ones are still necessary.
By butter do you mean the bearing cover has oil injection holes? Aren’t the bearings of the sealed type?
