What causes a diaphragm pump to operate intermittently?
There must be a problem with the check valve or the ball
Regarding the check valve issue, one can check whether the valve ball is moving; after prolonged use, the ball may wear out and become stuck
The diaphragm pump operates intermittently; by using troubleshooting methods, it is confirmed that there is no issue with the control valve. If the pump is able to build pressure, it indicates that there is no problem with the outlet check valve; if pressure cannot be built, then the check valve must be stuck. There is also a possibility that the diaphragm connection nut on the non-functional side has loosened.
There is a foreign object stuck in the valve ball; or check the diaphragm on the side that is not working
