What should I do if the oil pressure of a triple-screw oil pump doesn’t rise, while a gear pump works fine under the same conditions? What are the differences in operating conditions between these two types of pumps?
Screw pumps generally come equipped with a pump body safety valve that redirects flow back to the inlet when the pressure at the pump outlet becomes too high. There is an adjustment screw available to modify the setting pressure of this safety valve; you might want to give it a try
