Thank you for your answer. The pictures show two centrifugal pumps with different numbers. Why does one choose a top-flat design and the other a bottom-flat design? They are also the suction inlets of the pumps.
When inhaled, the top will be flat and the air will be discharged from the pump. During backfilling, the pipe slopes downward toward the pump inlet, the diameter reduction bottom is flat, and the air returns to the inlet tank. If the inlet of the pump tilts upward, the top will be flat and the air will be discharged from the pump.
The poster can take a look at SHT3012-2011 Petrochemical Metal Pipe Layout Design Code, Section 5.8.3, except for slurry or solid media, it is recommended to use a flat bottom. Therefore, generally, whether it is upward or downward, the top and bottom ends are generally used.
There is no fixed mode. The principle is that it can be discharged even if it does not contain gas or if it exists. At most, we should consider the problem of sedimentation.
If you want to install it horizontally, choose the lower level (if you choose the upper level, the media will be stored). There shouldn't be much difference if you install it vertically.
