When the standby hot oil pump, after maintenance, is put into operation, how can air within the pump body be ensured to be removed? Is it useful to open the drain during the pumping process?

This is generally done during the cold oil circulation phase; especially as the temperature rises during circulation, it is very important to remove condensate and water. When the temperature is between 95–130°C, water is at boiling point, which can often lead to pump cavitation. Therefore, it is necessary to switch the pumps back and forth from the beginning, as this facilitates the removal of water. This is especially important when the temperature is very high. Drainage is very dangerous; in minor cases it can cause burns, while in more serious cases it can lead to fires. . . .
