I have a question: There is a type of high-viscosity lubricant base oil with a dynamic viscosity of 1500–1600 Cst at 40°C, and 140–150 Cst at 100°C. The desired flow rate is 0.1–1.0 t/hr, the transportation temperature is 100–120°C; insulation is required for the pump head, the pump’s suction pipe, and the discharge pipeline. The output pressure can be adjusted between 3.0–6.0 MPa. What model of pump should everyone choose? What type is it?
Positive displacement pumps such as twin-screw pumps and gear pumps
Screw pumps and gear pumps, right? Their flow rate and head are not very high

Gear pumps have a simple structure, are small in size, and inexpensive, so they should be given priority. Diaphragm pumps and plunger pumps are also common types of positive displacement pumps; choosing one of these models is an option as well. It’s advisable to consult pump manufacturers for more details. Of course, screw pumps are also suitable, but I don’t have much experience with them and am not very familiar with them; it seems their structure is relatively complex, and their price is likely to be high
Can a rotor pump be used instead? It is also crucial to be able to withstand temperatures above 120 degrees.
A rotor pump will work; choose one with a thermal insulation jacket, but the cost is not low
Why are rotor pumps cheaper than screw pumps?
A good pump is one that meets your production requirements; price is not relevant
