A submersible pump is one whose pump body is located below the liquid surface, with the inside and outside of the pump filled with liquid, eliminating the need for priming.
The submersible pump to which we usually refer is a vertical centrifugal pump; its shaft is relatively long, and both the casing and the impeller are submerged in water, while the motor is located above the tank. As long as the liquid covers the impeller, the pump can start operating.
Generally, it is a regular vertical centrifugal pump; the pump is located at the bottom of the tank, connected by long pipes. Starting and stopping the pump is the same as with ordinary centrifugal pumps.
