The height and volume of the water intake tank are related to the pump’s inlet pipe diameter, maximum suction height, length of the inlet pipe, as well as the way in which the inlet pipe is connected. It can be designed to work in conjunction with the pump; the pump manufacturer should calculate the appropriate dimensions so that the cost can be determined together.
The water intake tank was supplied by us. There are no manufacturers that sell pumps and also provide water tanks.

Yes, it mainly depends on the performance of the pump. The specifications and design of the water intake tank can be provided by the pump manufacturer, or it can be purchased or fabricated separately. The water intake tank is even simpler; you can just use a large carbon steel pipe, depending on the water flow rate, and it’s sufficient to do that – the inlet opening needs to be calculated carefully.
It is necessary to take into account the volume of gas inside the tank after pumping, as well as the total volume of gas in the inlet pipeline. According to Boyle’s law, P1V1=P2V2; when a vacuum tank is in operation, the internal pressure decreases and the volume of gas expands. When the pump is operating, there must also be a certain depth of immersion at the inlet, and typically the effective volume (the volume from the liquid level inside the vacuum tank to the centerline of the pump inlet after the tank is filled with liquid) should be at least 3 times the volume of gas.
The actual volume of liquid that can be filled in the tank is equal to twice the volume of the tank’s inlet pipe. Please refer to the design concept in the attachment.
