Issues regarding the outdoor storage of IP55 motors

A batch of motors was stored outdoors at the site for 10 months without any rain protection. It has just been debugged, and several motors have been found to make excessive noise; bearing problems are suspected. Isn’t an IP55 motor rainproof? Are any rainproof measures needed for storage outdoors? Is the high noise level related to storage in an open area?
There is a claim that IP55 is a dust protection rating, not a rain protection rating.
Loosen the motor’s foot bolts and run the motor at no load to check if vibration still occurs; if not, it is likely a mounting issue.
No matter how waterproof it is, it can’t be built this way – metal objects will rust!
If not used for a long time, the rotor inside may develop rust spots. The so-called idea that something gets better with use – it’s just that things deteriorate over time, that’s the principle behind it
The protection rating IP55 means a dust protection level of 5 (complete protection against the intrusion of foreign objects; although it cannot completely prevent dust from entering, the amount of dust that does get in does not affect the proper operation of the appliance), and a water protection level of 5 (protection against low-pressure water jets for at least 3 minutes). Regarding water vapor and areas with poor sealing, rust can still occur; the motor parts of outdoor equipment definitely need rain guards
