Could some expert explain the difference between mechanical seals and oil seals?
Simply put, a mechanical seal is used to prevent the leakage of the medium, and it is generally installed on the impeller shaft. Oil seal: Prevents the leakage of lubricating oil, and is generally installed at the sealing areas of the front and rear covers of the bearing. One is end-face sealing, and the other is radial sealing

Oil seal: Installed behind the bearing housing to prevent the lubricating oil inside it from leaking out. The usage locations are different.
