As the title suggests, is this cavitation or corrosion? The density of the material is 0.86; it contains a small amount of moisture. The pH value is around 5-6. There is a reflux pump at the top of the vacuum distillation tower, with a vacuum level of about 10 Kpa (absolute pressure) and a temperature of around 60 degrees

Judging from this appearance, there is both corrosion and cavitation; cavitation is the main issue in the area around the ring at the inlet cover of the impeller, while corrosion is the main problem on the cover itself and the pump cover
I forgot to mention that the first two diagrams show chemical pumps of the model IHH50-32-250B, while the latter two diagrams show canned pumps; however, the medium used in all of them is the same. I’m not sure what’s going on, but I doubt that my material is that highly corrosive, after all, the storage tank for this material is also made of carbon steel……
When you turn on your pump, is there any cracking sound inside the pump chamber? If so, it’s cavitation. There are several types of cavitation: standard cavitation, inlet recirculation cavitation, and outlet recirculation cavitation. Standard cavitation refers to the formation of honeycomb-like pits at the point just inside the blade; inlet recirculation cavitation occurs at the pump casing flange, as well as in the area near the pump impeller inlet, where honeycomb-like pits appear. Exit backflow cavitation causes honeycomb-like pitting to appear at the outlet of the impeller blades and near the cover plate at the maximum diameter of the impeller.
Flow rate also has a significant impact on corrosion; the corrosion rate increases as the flow rate rises, and erosion occurs when the flow rate reaches a certain level.
That’s not the case, but the export traffic can fluctuate greatly! I’ll take some more photos this afternoon; the turbine casing and end caps of the pump are the same as those of the impeller
