Can a check valve be installed at the outlet of a low-pressure fan?

The low-pressure centrifugal fan used in my system is designed to operate at a pressure of no more than 0.07 MPA. When the fan malfunctions, the medium often flows back due to the valves not closing properly. For safety reasons, I want to install a check valve at the fan’s outlet; I’m not sure if this will work. Given the low pressure of the fan, I wonder whether it will be able to push aside the check valve. Please share your thoughts; thanks, bonus points for helpful answers

The pressure is already quite high; installing a gravity check valve would be a good solution
