Hello everyone! Asking for your guidance! I have a closed vortex pump and I want to transform it into a self-priming vortex pump. What is the best way to deal with the pump head? Please guide me, thank you!
It means that the pump part has a liquid storage bucket. When it is running self-priming, the liquid will not be emptied and can usually be sucked up. A simple thing is to have an upward liquid storage bucket at the pump outlet. The size is estimated based on the flow rate of the pump!
I want to ask, is it just adding a small device similar to an expansion tube to the outlet pipe of the pump?
I have this experience. Add a siphon tank at the inlet of the equipment. It needs to be filled with water for the first time. It will not be used in the future. It can achieve the self-priming function of ordinary centrifugal pumps.

Just add a siphon tank to the entrance of the equipment.
Add a vacuum diversion tank. The size of the tank is calculated based on the 3.5-digit value of the inlet pipeline volume. The inlet pipe diameter is one step larger than the pump diameter.
