Medium: toluene. What type of pump is suitable, and what material should be used for the mechanical seal? The DN25 pipeline is 600 meters long, and a supply rate of no less than 300 kilograms of the agent per hour is required. The mechanical seal of this pump breaks down frequently; I would like to switch to a different type of pump. Please give me some advice.
Does the seal allow idling? It’s not allowed either; use a double-end 53A system instead.

Replace with a double-end face seal, equipped with cooling water, and a seal that can operate without liquid.
If the process conditions are good and there is no idling, a shielded pump can be chosen; it has no seals and is made of all-steel material. Shielded pumps require relatively better process conditions – no debris present, and the system cannot be emptied! ! Magnetic pump and canned motor pump have similar requirements; the process conditions can be provided to the pump manufacturer to assist with selection.
Judging from the photos, the sealing design of this pump is too simple; it is recommended to use an external flushing system. Furthermore, in cases where there are unstable operating conditions involving intermittent operation, it is recommended to use shielded pumps or magnetic drive pumps with caution; otherwise, if they break down, the cost of repair will be much higher than it is at present.
I’m leaning towards CZ pumps now. Any good suggestions for seals?
