Minimum flow line for centrifugal pumps

Should the minimum flow control valve of a centrifugal pump remain open or closed during normal production? I hope experts can provide some guidance
To prevent pump stall, keep it in the open position, right?
Keeping it in the open position provides protection for the pump.
During normal production, the minimum flow line should be closed. It can be turned on before starting the pump; once the pump is operating normally, the minimum flow line should be closed.
