Dear friends, can a cylindrical roller bearing be used in the bearing housing of a deep groove ball bearing?
Whether it can be replaced depends on the specific circumstances, on what function this bearing performs, and primarily on the direction of the forces acting on it. The 73 series bearings were originally used at the coupling end of the single-stage cantilever conventional centrifugal pump design, and they kept breaking down. Later, we saw that in the newly designed pump bearing housings, the bearings used were of the NU series; their radial load-carrying capacity had increased by 2 to 3 times, so we made the changes accordingly.
Then you generally have to use NUP roller bearings

It has a double-support structure, with a pair of tapered roller bearings at the other end
Check whether the bearing dimensions allow it to fit in, as well as whether the positioning, fastening, stress conditions, and oil level are appropriate
In the end, it’s all confusing. Let’s use the image again; we just need to change the bearing marked with a red circle in the image from the 63 series to a NU series bearing.
Mine has dual supports. I consulted the pump factory’s designers, and they said it cannot be modified
