The thickness at the locations marked with red circles on the front and rear cover plates of the impeller is inconsistent. The thickness of the left cover plate is about 9.5 mm, while that of the right cover plate is about 7.5 mm. What caused it? Is it harmful?

When designing, the manufacturer should take into account the forces acting on it, as well as the corrosion and erosion to which the impeller is exposed within the pump chamber.
During casting, the core inside might float; in order to ensure the correct dimensions of the hub and the mouth ring during alignment processing, the thickness of the cover plate is not uniform
It’s difficult to ensure exact consistency during casting; this one just differs by too much
Reasons for impeller casting. The unbalanced axial force on a double-suction pump is relatively small, but it isn’t completely absent. It appears to be an old impeller; measure the outer diameter of the inlet ring areas on both sides to ensure they are as consistent as possible. Check the static balance again; it’s also a good idea to check the dynamic balance.
