The Equipment Management Department of the Shengli Oilfield Branch, the Offshore Oil Production Plant, and the Equipment Procurement Department of the Materials Management and Distribution Center recently formed an acceptance team that went to the Beijing Aerospace Power Technology Park, where they successfully completed the acceptance process for BB4-type long-shaft centrifugal pumps intended for use in offshore platform water injection systems. This type of pump is manufactured by Shengji Petroleum Equipment Co., Ltd. of Shengli Oilfield, and it plays an important role in promoting the localization of high-end equipment in oilfields and improving the efficiency of offshore oilfield development. As offshore oilfield development progresses, issues such as limited space on platforms and high energy consumption of water injection equipment become increasingly prominent. To this end, Shengji Company has developed the BB4 type long-shaft centrifugal pump, which features high stability and a high degree of modularity. This pump boasts advantages such as high efficiency, strong adaptability, and low maintenance costs, enabling it to effectively improve water injection efficiency and reduce operational energy consumption. Since its first deployment on an offshore platform in August 2024, this type of pump has demonstrated the technological progress in China’s oil equipment manufacturing sector. During the acceptance process, the team strictly followed procedures such as document review, visual inspection, performance testing, safety checks, and operational monitoring, to thoroughly verify that all specifications of the equipment met the design standards. This pump has a flow rate range of 60–85 cubic meters per hour, and a head of 1500–1700 meters; it is capable of meeting the requirements for treating oily wastewater on offshore platforms as well as ensuring stable water injection. The long-shaft centrifugal pump subject to this acceptance is the result of a strategic partnership between Shengji Company, Baker Hughes, and Beijing Aerospace Petrochemical, enabling the complementary utilization of technical expertise, resources, and market advantages. With the completion of this equipment acceptance and delivery, Shengli Oilfield has taken a solid step forward in promoting the use of domestic equipment and optimizing the production operations in offshore oilfields, thereby providing reliable equipment support for the high-quality development of these oilfields.
