On December 7, the 400,000 tons per year jet fuel liquid-phase hydrogenation industrial application project at Qingyang Petrochemical produced qualified products, with all product qualities meeting the standards for jet fuel. This marked a successful and smooth commissioning of the jet fuel liquid-phase hydrogenation unit constructed by Qingyang Petrochemical’s project team, as well as the successful completion of the entire “Three Chemicals and One Oil” project. The 400,000 tons per year industrial application plant for liquid-phase hydroprocessing of aviation fuel is located adjacent to the east side of Unit 1 in the plant area of Qingyang Petrochemical Company; it is 73 meters long in the north-south direction and 30 meters long in the east-west direction. The aviation fuel plant utilizes the C-NUM technology for cyclic-free upward-flow liquid-phase hydrogenation, which was developed independently by the East China Design Institute, to produce aviation fuel that meets the standards for Type 3 jet fuel. Once completed, it will increase the proportion of high-value-added products produced by the entire plant, thereby enhancing the company’s overall strength. The main engineering quantities involved include 354 cubic meters of concrete foundations, 263 tons of steel structures, 24 static equipment units, 18 dynamic equipment units, process pipelines with a total length of 25,000 inches, 407 sets of electrical equipment, 616 sets of instrumentation equipment, 20.3 kilometers of electrical cables, and 75.6 kilometers of instrumentation cables. Construction of this device began on-site on December 15, 2017, and the entire construction process took 289 days. A total of 29,210 inches of welding work was completed, with a first-pass welding success rate of 99.3%. During the commissioning period, the safety and environmental protection of the plant were under control; each step of the process was verified, and progress was made steadily without any setbacks. All systems such as those for reactions, distillation, and utility services, along with the upstream renovation projects associated with the plant and other auxiliary units, were all in normal operation. The equipment and facilities were in good condition and functioning properly, and all instrument interlocks were operating as intended. Thus, the goal of a safe, stable, and quality-driven commissioning process was successfully achieved. On June 17, the distillation tower, the first large-scale equipment for the “Three Transformations and One Oil” project, was hoisted into place, marking the entry of the equipment installation work into its peak phase ; On August 23, the second section of the horizontal flue in the hydrogenation unit was successfully lifted, marking the successful completion of the assembly of the hot flue system in the jet fuel hydrogenation unit. This also signifies that the lifting of large components in this unit is essentially complete ; On September 30, the device achieved a high level of throughput. On November 27, after completing the catalyst loading, the jet fuel plant sequentially carried out tasks such as drying the reaction system, ensuring its airtightness, as well as conducting cold oil operation, hot oil operation, and catalyst sulfidation for the system ; At 2 a.m. on December 6, parameters such as the boiling range, freezing point, density, and sulfur content of the jet fuel produced through hydrogenation met the design specifications, marking the successful first operation of Qingyang Petrochemical’s liquid-phase hydrogenation unit for jet fuel. After successfully meeting the delivery target on September 30, all those involved in the project became even more determined and actively committed themselves to the final rectification work for the aviation fuel hydrogenation unit. Through the \"three inspections and four determinations,\" it was identified that there were 111 remaining items that needed to be addressed in the entire aviation fuel hydrogenation facility. All members of the project team demonstrated the \"iron army\" spirit of being willing to take on tough challenges, skilled at handling large-scale projects, and capable of achieving success. Working tirelessly day and night despite difficult conditions, they managed to complete all the remaining tasks related to the aviation fuel hydrogenation facility in just 20 days.
