This achievement broke the foreign monopoly on advanced slurry pump technology, enabling domestic pumps to replace imported ones and taking a significant step forward in the process of making heavy-duty slurry pumps domestically produced. As enterprises pursue a path of specialization and scaling up, and in order to meet the changing demands of domestic and international markets as well as the increasing requirements for product quality, the Stone Pump Company has always focused on \"two types of development\" – innovation and exploration. It continuously works to improve its key core technologies, with the goal of breaking foreign monopolies and occupying a leading position in the industry. By strengthening its internal capabilities and aligning itself with international advanced standards, the durability of its products has been highly recognized by customers in China’s non-coal mining sector; moreover, these products are comparable to similar metal slurry pumps used in foreign non-ferrous metallurgy industries, offering excellent cost-performance ratios. Since learning about this project, Stone Pump Company has attached great importance to it; it established a dedicated task force composed of members from the marketing and technical departments to provide comprehensive tracking and technical survey services regarding the layout of the equipment and piping systems at the customer’s site. At the same time, to ensure the accuracy of the operational parameters, several colleagues responsible for this project worked hard, making multiple trips to the construction site to communicate and coordinate, verify operational data, gather first-hand information from the site, study the properties of the process media and the design options, and develop the best possible solution for the client – which won them high praise from the customer. After obtaining the key parameters through multiple rounds of interactions, the company’s technical team immediately set to work on developing a newly designed pump model, addressing one by one the technical challenges and market obstacles encountered during the localization process. Detailed calculations were carried out in areas such as hydraulic model design, pump component sizing, bearing verification, as well as the overall structure and exterior design of the pump, all aimed at maximizing its operational efficiency. Within a short period of time, two design options were prepared for the customers to choose from, demonstrating the company’s strong research capabilities, professional manufacturing standards, and advantages in collaborative innovation. During the business discussions, the marketing manager introduced to the customers the newly developed 550D slurry pump. This pump features a single-shell, bracket-type design, which helps to better control the overall weight, allows for appropriate control of the shell wall thickness, reduces the pressure on the volute, and extends its service life, thereby ensuring reliable operation of the product. Building on the efficient, wear-resistant, and stable performance of Shigong Pump Company’s existing slurry pump series, this new model fully meets the requirements of various field conditions and can be widely used in industries such as non-ferrous metallurgy. The manager also detailed the advantages of the company’s products over imported ones, enabling customers to gain a comprehensive understanding of them. During the bidding process, the colleagues in charge of this project provided detailed answers to the customer’s questions, explaining in simple terms why the product was suitable for use in such industrial applications and why it was irreplaceable. Thanks to their excellent market reputation, well-developed technical solutions, and reasonable pricing, they stood out in the competition and were able to secure these orders. This represented another significant breakthrough in the localization of large-scale slurry pumps; it was the result of the company’s ongoing efforts to transform its market strategy and upgrade its products. The competitive advantages of these products were further enhanced, and it also laid a solid foundation for the wider adoption of these large pumps in the market.
