Shandong Jining Hengxin Group invests 3.1 billion yuan to start up a 500,000-ton ethanol production facility

The project is located in the Zoucheng Chemical Industry Park in Jining City, with a total investment of 3.09 billion yuan. It involves the purchase of over 500 sets of equipment such as compressors, reactors, and distillation towers, as well as process units for gas purification, methanol dehydration to produce dimethyl ether, carbonylation to produce methyl acetate, hydrogenation, and distillation. Ethanol is produced using coke oven gas, water gas, and methanol generated by the existing facilities as raw materials. Once put into operation, the facility will be able to produce 500,000 tons of ethanol per year, generating annual sales revenue of 4.5 billion yuan and profits and taxes of 1.35 billion yuan. It will help promote employment in Jining as well as the high-quality development of the regional economy. Additionally, it will contribute to the industrial upgrading of enterprises in the fields of coking, gasification, and methanol production in China, enabling the sustainable, efficient, and value-added use of resources; thus, it plays an important role as a model for the industry.
