On November 4, the 320,000 tons per year green methanol upgrade project of Inner Mongolia Yigao Coal Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. was approved for registration. Construction location: Ordos City -- Jungeer Banner -- Dali Industrial Park, Jungeer Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Total investment: 190.1 million yuan. Planned construction period: November 2025 to October 2026. Construction scale: Pre-treatment of 240,000 tons of biochar raw materials, with an annual output of 140,000 tons of conventional methanol and 180,000 tons of green methanol products. Construction contents: Construction of new biomass raw material carbonization facilities and auxiliary facilities, conversion of boiler fuel to biomass, and renovation of other related facilities. Inner Mongolia Yigao Coal Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Inner Mongolia Yigao”), as a subsidiary of Hong Kong China Gas Group, is the first green methanol producer in China to obtain both ISCC EU and ISCC PLUS certifications. The company’s green methanol project is located in Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region; by the end of 2024, its annual production capacity of green methanol had reached 100,000 tons ； According to the plan, the annual production capacity is set to increase further to 150,000 tons by the end of 2025, while the sales volume of green methanol for the whole of 2025 is expected to reach 20,000 tons. On June 13, 2025, Pho Run Energy issued a statement announcing that it would increase the capital of VENEX Company in conjunction with Hong Kong China Gas, and that its subsidiary would acquire 100% of the shares of Inner Mongolia Yigao Coal Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. VENEX, a joint venture established by Furen Energy and China Gas, has completed its registration procedures; it plans to use its own funds amounting to 538.6505 million RMB to acquire 100% of the shares in Inner Mongolia Yigao Coal Chemical Technology Co., Ltd.
