Linde signs contract with Dongfang Special Steel for air separation supply project in Jiaxing, Zhejiang

Recently, Linde, one of the world’s leading industrial gas and engineering companies, announced that the contract for an air separation supply project undertaken in collaboration with Zhen Shi Group Dongfang Special Steel Co., Ltd. (Dongfang Special Steel) has been officially signed, and the project has been approved for implementation. This cooperation will further strengthen the partnership between the two parties in the field of green manufacturing, contributing to the high-quality development of the stainless steel industry. Under the cooperation plan, Linde will build, own, and operate a large-scale air separation unit for Dongfang Special Steel’s green, high-end nickel-chromium materials manufacturing facility in Jiaxing, Zhejiang, to provide a stable supply of industrial gases ； At the same time, Linde will also equip Dongfang Special Steel’s rolling heating furnaces and bench-type heat treatment furnaces with three sets of REBOX® full-oxygen combustion solutions to drive production processes through technological innovation. Linde’s partnership with Dongfang Special Steel began in 2008. Over the years, leveraging its expertise in gas operation, Linde has continued to provide safe and reliable gas supply services to Dongfang Special Steel, thus laying a solid foundation for their cooperation. By joining forces once again, Linde will leverage its well-established gas production and supply network in the East China region, along with its professional gas supply services and green gas application technologies, to work together with Dongfang Special Steel to create a benchmark for the high-quality development of the stainless steel industry. It is worth noting that as part of this collaboration, Linde introduced its REBOX® full-oxygen combustion patent technology to large-scale steel heating and heat treatment furnaces in China for the first time, applying it to the new high-end stainless steel finished product production line at Dongfang Special Steel. This technology has been successfully applied in over 180 steel high-temperature furnaces around the world. It not only significantly improves the efficiency of heating furnaces, reduces fuel consumption, and lowers operating costs, but also enables a substantial reduction in nitrogen oxide and carbon dioxide emissions due to the use of pure oxygen for combustion. Thus, it provides innovative gas technology support for steel companies to achieve cost reduction, increased efficiency, as well as emission reduction goals.
