Gentlemen: What kind of gasket is suitable for DN950 flanges? Our unit’s DN950 flanges originally used wave-shaped gaskets, but they kept leaking, which is a real problem; we need to make corrections – please advise. Thank you!

What type of flange, and under what operating conditions?
The DN950 flange originally used wave-shaped gaskets, with a medium temperature of 330 degrees Celsius and a pressure of 1.7 Mpa.
There should be fluctuations in temperature, right? With such large flanges and high temperatures, improper tightening can easily lead to leaks. First of all, it is best to use torque-controlled tightening, and the order in which the bolts are tightened is also crucial. Secondly, thermal tightening should be carried out when the temperature reaches around 150 degrees. Thirdly, if temperature fluctuations due to manufacturing processes are inevitable, disc springs can be installed on the bolts
It depends on what materials you are transporting. For ordinary use, a PTFE gasket is sufficient. However, it is necessary to ensure that the flange surface is flat. The screws should be tightened symmetrically.
