The inlet tank of the centrifugal compressor was originally equipped with two pipelines of equal size, one leading to each of the compressors A/B. Later, it was determined that running both compressors at the same time could lead to surge problems, as one compressor might draw too much flow and deprive the other of sufficient gas supply. Now, the tank has a single larger outlet pipeline from which two branches are created to feed each compressor separately; this arrangement helps to prevent the compressors from competing for flow What is the principle? Please help
The pipe is larger, so the volume of air flow increases
The original poster asked for more details. Has the diameter of the inlet pipeline to the compressor not changed, with the two pipes leading to the compressor simply coming together to form one larger pipe that is then connected to the buffer tank? Has the inlet diameter also become smaller?
