Why was the C-DCDS removed from Asahi Kasei’s zero-gap electrolyzer?
In Phase 2 here, there is no C-DCDS; after parking, a high-flow circulation process lasting 52 minutes takes place
Was polarization applied for 15 minutes after the current dropped to zero?
It has to do with the coating; they probably won’t tell you the specific details.

C-DCDS, also known as the central circuit breaker, remains closed during normal operation of the electrolyzer and is opened after shutdown in order to reduce reverse current
We don’t have polarized rectifiers here; phase 1 has a central circuit breaker, while phase 2 doesn’t have any
