The slag cooler is one of the essential auxiliary devices in circulating fluidized bed boilers; it is used for cooling the slag produced by such boilers. Generally, it is necessary to cool the ash and slag from 900°C to 150°C or even lower. The ash and slag exchange heat with cooling water through the slag cooler, and the circulating cooling water removes most of the heat from them. Once the temperature of the ash and slag has dropped, they can be transported away using specialized equipment or stored in a slag storage tank. With the rapid development of circulating fluidized bed technology, boilers generate large amounts of slag discharge and require high pressure for cooling water. This leads to problems such as leaks at the rotary joints and slag leakage at the slag inlet, which are persistent issues common in this industry. Expert assistance is needed to find solutions to these problems. Most of the rotary joints used in cold slag pumps in operation today employ a packing seal design, that is, carbon fiber packing is used for sealing purposes. Whenever dripping occurs, the bolts on the rotary joint gland are tightened to compress the packing; however, this approach does not yield good results in practice ; Moreover, the slag cooling machine cylinder itself has a coaxiality error, making it impossible for the hollow shaft of the rotating joint to be perfectly coaxial with the housing ; Furthermore, after the rotary joint has been in use for a while, the spindle will sink as the cylinder body sinks.
